Big Basin Redwoods State Park

The day before we left California, we went to Big Basin Redwoods State Park. These trees are the biggest I've seen in my whole life! Redwoods can live 1,000 to 2,000 years! When Columbus landed in America, some Redwoods were already over 900 years old. Crazy! These pictures don't really do the size of the trees justice, but they're still fun...

The only way to the park was to drive on a VERY windy road for miles and miles and miles. Fortunately for me, I slept the whole way there. Unfortunately, I didn't sleep on the way back! Here I am stripped down after getting a little sick on myself! But I'm still smiling!!!

  1. The redwoods are awesome, aren't they, Ollie? Good pictures! You have had some pretty wonderful adventures and I will be looking forward to seeing some more as I watch you grow big!

  2. Hey, there! What great pictures. I would love to see the redwoods some day. I don't think I have, though there was a very sketchy time in the early '70s that I'm not recollecting due to it being too incriminating. Good to see you in the blogosphere.
